ABOUT ME.

Hey! I’m Kate and I’m passionate about creative strategy, music, wellness, chocolate, and more. Music has been one of the biggest parts of my life since I heard Beyoncé for the first time at 7 months old, and I don’t see a world where I can be happy without it! I’m a driven, right-brain-heavy business student in the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC-Chapel Hill, and I want to combine my creative passions with my strong interest in marketing/storytelling at an agency.

My parents tell me I started singing before I could walk. As a toddler, I would rap my blanket around my neck like a cape, pick up a cooking spoon for a mic, and force my family to watch me sing and dance to “Single Ladies” by Beyoncé in our living room. My family called me “the dancing girl” because I was always dancing around the house and memorizing choreography from music videos. I’ve always had a knack for entertainment and would get very creative with all of my living room performances (my parents were lucky if they were not charged at the door). Although I was a shy kid, I had a big voice and a lotta spunk. It was not until age nine that I decided to go public with performing, igniting a lifelong passion.

In the midst of pursuing a business degree and taking classes like Operations Management and Business Analytics, I have to find ways to exercise my creative interests. That includes writing for my music journalism blog (Kate’s Picks), working as the music chair for the Creative Business Club, helping a local recording studio with their marketing and live shows, writing music with friends, and more! I’ve found that although I’m uber-organized and enjoy administrative work, I need creative outlets to fully thrive, and I hope to find a professional role in which I can combine both skillsets.
