My Singing Journey

Where it all began.

Just a 10-year-old girl at her lunchtime concert with turquoise knee shorts, a Patagonia fleece, brown hiking shoes, and a dream. When the karaoke started, I somehow found the words to “King of Anything” by Sara Bareilles and all 4’ 8” of me felt like a pop star. I even found a little sass in my tone and spunk in my presence when I sang “who cares…if you disagree…you are not me…who made you king of anything?” Performing had a hold on me. My mom signed me up for voice lessons that day and I stayed in voice lessons for 8 years.

Big choir nerd.

Choir took up most of my extracurriculars, I was in the GA All-State choir, the whole shebang. I even started conducting my school’s choir a little during my senior year.

Theatre.

I was also a big theatre gal for 5 years before choosing to focus strictly on choir and lessons in high school.

Never passed up a talent show.

Performed in front of my school in 6th grade for an annual talent show, got hooked, and performed in the same talent show every year till COVID.

Berklee College of Music Summer Camp

How it’s going.

Trying to sing as much as possible wherever I can. I want singing to be a part of my life forever.
